Come with your Ukulele Jam or Club and lead a song or two. Join with other jams or clubs in the DMV, as we have a sing-a-long led by several jam leaders. The groups signed up are: The Hawaii State Society Ukulele Hui (No. VA), The Woods Ukulele Club (WV), UkeAnnapolis (MD), MD Uke Jam, Baltimore Uke Club (MD), Archie Edwards Uke Club (MD), Springfield/Alexandria/Arlington 55+ Ukulele Clubs (VA), the Tri-State Ukecletric Orchestra (WV), NOVA Ukulele Ensemble (VA), and Victor Litz Wednesday Jam (MD). Also joining to perform are Sisters Uke & Friends (@ 2:00) and Maureen Andary (@ 4:00).

We are blessed to have the Haleamau family join us at Gaithersburg UkeFest. Enjoy the Hawaiian music stylings of Gary Haleamau and Kawili. Their recent CD "Pilipa'a" was a finalist for “Hawaiian Album of the Year”, for the 2019 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards! They will be performing selected songs from this CD, as well as others during this concert. Local hula dancers who were students in Kumu Sheldeen's hula seminar will be joining them on the stage during selected songs.

Children's Ukulele Festival

Children grades 2-7 can sign up for this event, which combines fun and learning from various instructors, like Nani Lowery, Maureen Andary, Kevin Carroll, and Phredd! From 9 to 11 the children will attend an ukulele workshop and a special music program geared just for them. The fun begins at 11 when Phredd will entertain them with an ukulele and sheer unmitigated joy! Adults should attend the concert with their children. Tickets are available for $1.00.

Lil Rev

 Born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lil Rev had a dual passions for music and education.He opted for the pragmatic route and earned a Bachelors Degree in Community Education from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. His first love is the humble ukulele and harmonica. But the truth of the matter is he's actually a seasoned multi-instrumentalist equally adept with a flat-pick guitar, old-time banjo, or blues mandolin.
 

Kevin Carroll

 Kevin Carroll is a certified State of Texas Elementary Educator, who instructs at ukulele workshops internationally and teaches both private and group music lessons to all ages and levels in Austin, TX . Kevin is also a performing and recording artist in his own right. He has launched a ukulele-based music education company called edUKEcation.com which brings lessons and instruments to schools, youth groups and other ukulele communities. 

Kelle Jolly

 Kelle Jolly is a singer, musician, actor, TV and radio personality, and community organizer. She is also the Tennessee Ukulele Lady. She is a full-time musician performing traditional American music – mostly jazz, but also blues, gospel, and soul. 

Maureen Andary

 Maureen Andary is an award-winning singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from Chevy Chase, D.C. She has a bachelors degree from New York University, selected as a 2010-2011 Artist in Residence at the Strathmore Center for the Performing Arts, and has performed her original songs at prestigious venues including The Kennedy Center, the Birchmere, and Lincoln Center.
 

Phredd

 The host of The Get Up and Go Show on WJTL in Lancaster, PA, where he has been on the air since 1984. He is known as Phredd – Ukulele Strumming, Harmonica Wailing, Suitcase Drum Kicking, Quirky Singer-Songwriter of Unmitigated Joy!
 

Ray Forton

 His life's passion... playing, singing, studying and teaching music. His musical experience includes over 45 years of studying, performing and teaching. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Towson University
